Inscription
Hello, everyone. I read that the task of Harold's burial by the sea was given to William Malet, and since he was a Norman with a Saxon mother, and probably bi-lingual, I was curious to know what language the inscription stone would have been in.

There's no conclusive evidence that he was buried in that location or any other.Some sources indicate he was buried beneath Waltham Abbey in an unmarked grave.
The fact is that there is as much speculation about how he was killed as to where his body went.
One fact that is very clear is that the Conqueror left the Angle-Saxon-Dane dead to rot where they died.My view is that Godwineson was not given special treatment due to the fact that his betrayal had caused the battle to take place.
